32 years experience in General Practice in the UK Australia and Spain

Dr Lewis qualified from St Mary's Hospital, London in 1975.

He worked for 2 years in and around the London area training for general practice before travelling to Australia for 4½ years to set up a practice in Melbourne.

He returned to the UK in 1982 to join the large general practice from which his father was retiring and worked there for 20 years. He was involved not only in every day practice but undertook much of the management of the practice. He helped with the training of young GPs in the training scheme, collaborated with one of his partners in the production of training videos on asthma, diabetes and practice management and followed his interest in the practice of Sports Medicine.

He looked after the Harlequins rugby club (where he played in the 60s and 70s) for 6 years and was also involved as team Doctor for 8 years with various England rugby teams (having captained the England Schools team in 1969). During this time he studied a distance-learning programme at Bath University and gained his diploma in Sports Medicine.

He moved to Spain with his wife in May 2002 to take up new challenges. He married in 1974 and has 2 children and 1 grandchild.
